Who We Are
|

Love INC of Clackamas County is a network of Clackamas County churches
working together to help the poor and the needy in our communities.
Through an intake and referral clearinghouse staffed by volunteers,
we connect people in need with the resources and programs of nearly
50 churches and thousands of potential volunteers in those 50 congregations.
Love INC clearinghouse volunteers take calls from single parent families,
the working poor, domestic violence victims, the elderly, the mentally
and physically disabled, all of whom have somehow fallen through the cracks
of society. The Love INC network can connect them with church programs
to provide things such as clothes, donated furniture and household items;
and with church volunteers who can help with home maintenance and repair,
budget counseling, simple companionship, and more.
Clients are referred to our clearinghouse by churches and by state
and county agencies. Every caller is taken through a thorough and respectful
intake process that attempts to identify both the current need and
underlying issues. Every need is verified with at least one third party
before being referred to volunteers or churches for assistance.
In this way we help assure both that the people whom we are helping
are truly in need and that we are maximizing wise use of resources.
Love INC of Clackamas County is one of over 135 Love INC affiliates
in 30 states helping nearly 1 million people in need each year through
over 9,000 churches, 6,000 community agencies, and 300,000 volunteers.
