Reggie, a 65-year-old widower who gets by
on income from Social Security, is dependent on his woodstove, his
only source of heat when cold weather comes. In early December,
he had just a week's supply of firewood left. He contacted Love
INC, who knew of a firewood ministry at
St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. A parishioner, John Buxman,
quickly delivered half of a cord of wood to Reggie's home in a trailer park.
Upon receiving the firewood, Reggie called Love INC to let
them know how grateful he was, and insisted on sending
in a $25 donation, even though Director Maggie Creps reassured him that
there was no need for him to do so, saying, "That's just what we like
to do here at Love INC!"
